Bee On 9/9/2009 was recorded:
#57 Italian Prune
Honey, Italian Prune, Irish moss, yeast nutrient, gypsum
Italian prunes were frozen then thawed, brought to a boil for a few mins. I bought 10 dry mead yeast smack packs for $6.50 each, I think the honey was $9.60 per 6 lb. jug. Nancy got us 30 jugs so far, we've got a lot of fruit in the freeze from last years picking.
Sunday 8/10/08 pitched yeast at 72f. I always give a good fast stir of the must when I pitch to aerate. [29½ = 16.2 potential/]
8/15/08 racked out fruit, forgot to get a hydrometer reading because Phil popped over for a bit. Nice rolling bubble.
9/9/09 bottled [0.5 residual sugar/] [15.7 alcohol/]
*** all batch #57 is corked in magnum size bottles with Geoff & Sue's corker. . . usually I use normal crown bottle caps in all bottling. I just wanted to use some large bottles I had and try corking for fun.
