There is no surviving diary for batch #2.What I remember is I hadn't tasted the first batch except for when I was racking out fruit and such, but my general impression was that I couldn't really go wrong with honey and fruit and possibly just a bit of alcohol. I got an opportunity for some pears from Nancy's parents home, so Nancy and I went there picking. The pears were slightly under ripe and that comes across still in this very nice mellow batch of Pear melomel mead. Really what I remember is that I had two full carboys of a beverage and a potential for something good that will keep.
